The Browns are happy to leave the door open for a troubled veteran.
Owner Jimmy Haslam told the media on Monday that Deshaun Watson has a "great chance" to become the team's starting quarterback next season.
He referenced changes under new head coach Todd Monken, which could give the 30-year-old a fresh start.
Watson has played in just 19 games over the past five years due to injury or suspension.
