More voters who supported Donald Trump are continuing to learn the consequences of electing him for a second term and their stories are going viral.
In the aftermath of the 2024 presidential election, social media users are sharing stories of regret and doubt from their friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers who are learning the plans for Trump's second term after voting for him.
The stories have revived a 2015 meme that perfectly describes how many Trump supporters may have voted to inflict harm on themselves.
"'I never thought leopards would eat MY face,' sobs woman who voted for the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party," the 2015 adage goes.
One social media user's "Trumpy neighbor" complained about having to return to the office for his job with the Department of Homeland Security while he's trying to take care of his elderly mother.
Another X user detailed her family's financial woes after her parents, whose "entire income" relies on federal grants, voted for Trump.
"My parents are conservative and own a business whose sole purpose is writing federal grants. Their entire income is now completely gone because of Trump. The leopards are having an absolute FEAST," a tweet reads.
A third person pointed out how "crazy" it is that "Americans can't pay rent or buy food even with jobs" although they voted for Trump.
"Sir, what about lowering the prices for groceries?" Another Trump voter ranted. "You said you were going to lower the prices for groceries and that’s why I voted for you. I didn’t vote to change straws or take over countries. LOWER THE PRICES OF GROCERIES. DO YOUR JOB!"
A Reddit user wrote that her "elderly, MAGA, and diabetic" mother was surprised that the Trump administration might rescind drug price caps.
"I was just talking to my mother about this Saturday. She's elderly, MAGA, and diabetic. She was saying how glad she was that the prices were capped, and I just casually mentioned unless the order gets rescinded. She was like, what, they can't do that, can they?! I said, of course, they can undo whatever they want," the user said.
It's apparent that several Trump supporters are rethinking their votes as plans for his second term emerge.
